Sr. Appraisers inspect the physical damage to a vehicle and are responsible for writing minor to complex estimates and any necessary supplementals for first and third party vehicles. Appraisers also inspect repairs/estimates for quality, accuracy, and compliance to policy. This Sr. Appraiser will be assigned a reasonably sized zone to cover the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley area and use a company car and laptop for working in the field or from their home office.
- Applicants must have a minimum of seven years of experience working as an appraiser with an insurance company, a body shop estimator, or equivalent full-time experience as an independent appraiser
- Detailed knowledge & experience in dealing with mechanical issues such as transmissions, engines, suspension, and other mechanical issues
- ASE,
- Proven ability to explain complex repair or replacement processes to customers, shops, and staff that include: painting and refinishing, sheet metal, frame (including aluminum), and mechanical operations
- Proven ability to create complex appraisals for major damages, with little to no assistance from others, utilizing Mitchell or similar software
- Solid computer/software skills to use related software, including Mitchell to write repair estimates, review estimates, and download/upload data or digital photos
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Must pass a detailed background investigation, including criminal, credit, DMV and possess a good driving record
