Homeowners Discounts

New Homes

This discount is applied to policies written on all homes built within ten years of the policy inception. The discount is to be determined by subtracting the year in which construction was completed from the year in which the policy becomes effective.

Age 0 or 1	10% reduction from basic premium
Age 2 or 3	9% reduction from basic premium
Age 4	8% reduction from basic premium
Age 5	7% reduction from basic premium
Age 6	6% reduction from basic premium
Age 7	5% reduction from basic premium
Age 8	4% reduction from basic premium
Age 9	3% reduction from basic premium
Age 10	2% reduction from basic premium

 

Home Protection Devices

This discount is to be applied when the insured has installed (or has had installed by licensed contractors) the operational home protection device indicated.

These percentage discounts are to be applied to the basic premium and prior to any premium charges for endorsements or increased coverages. The maximum discount available for any combination of safety devices is 10%.

Home Protection Device Discounts are:

Fire or smoke alarm.		TYPE 1 2% reduction from basic premium
Fire or smoke alarm and dead bolt locks and fire extinguishers.		TYPE 2 5% reduction from basic premium
Fire alarm and/or complete burglar alarm reporting to Fire Dept., Police Dept., or Central Station.		TYPE 3 10% reduction from basic premium
