In your dealings with us in person, on the telephone, on our web site or through the mail; such as your name, address, date of birth, and driver's license number.

We collect data about you, such as your claim history, motor vehicle record and in some cases your credit history, from:

Our affiliates within the Wawanesa family of companies; and
Consumer reporting agencies. These agencies may retain your data and disclose it to other persons as allowed by law.

Data We May Disclose

In order to process your application, service your policy or adjust any claims you may have, we may disclose the following data about you:

Data you provide, such as your name, address and social security number;
Data about your dealings with us or our affiliates within the Wawanesa family of companies, such as your policy coverage, premiums, and payment record; and
Data from consumer reporting agencies, such as your driving record and in some cases your credit history.

We only disclose the data of persons who have ceased to be our customers for the purposes of:

Investigating an ongoing claim; or
Reporting, investigating or preventing actual or potential fraud or material misrepresentation.

To Whom Data is Disclosed

We will disclose your data as allowed or required by law and as needed to provide or service your insurance policy or settle your claim.

We may disclose data about you to:

Insurance rate advisory organizations;
Companies processing insurance claims;
Consumer reporting agencies, in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act; and
Companies or agencies dealing with fraud investigation or prevention.

The law allows us to share your data within the Wawanesa family of insurance companies in order to better serve you and to offer you products and services. The law does not allow you to prevent those disclosures. Be assured however, we do not share any data with other companies for their marketing purposes.
